Our favourite things to do in Raglan!
Raglan is a picturesque, surf town located in the South of the Waikato region. Full of wanderlust, like-minded travelers and accommodating locals, this is the place to go to see New Zealand in a different light.
While the surfing is the major attraction to Raglan, there is a lot more to offer than the ocean. With waterfalls, mountains, hikes, social hubs, yoga and retreats this is the place to get in touch with your inner Zen.
Stay, Eat, Play, Grow at Solscape!
Solscape is the place for environment lovers and sustainability advocates! Solscape is like a mini community and offers nearly everything imaginable, with a vegan restaurant on site, a surf school, yoga centre, massage and wellness and several accommodation options suitable for everyone and every price range. Our choice of accommodation would have to be the very on trend lotus belle tents!
Whale watch at Waoku Lodge
This beautiful lodge sits directly above the famous Whale Bay. This is definitely not for a travellers on a tight budget with four luxury apartments on site, that come with a hefty price tag but it is a true escape from reality here.
Kayak out to Pancake Rocks…
This is an easy stress-free option for a day on the water as it is a straight 15-minute kayak from the township. Layers and layers of limestone have built up to create cool little tocks and caves! Visit at high tide to go inside of the caves, or at low tide to get a closer view of the rock formations. Not a fan of paddle boarding? There are stand-up paddleboards available.
Look over the Bridal Veil Falls
Short drive and a short walk! That sounds like a piece of us… Walk for only 10 minutes through lush, native New Zealand bush to reach the viewing platform that is only inches away from the waterfall! For the keen walkers, or people trying to burn off all of the delicious fish and chips consumed you can make your way down 261 steps to several more viewing platforms!
