A Buddha Bowl should be on all travelers’ diets. They are delicious, nutritious and cheap! All of the elements a traveller needs in the diet to keep them going and to keep the bank account looking healthy also!
They consist of whole grains, vegetables, protein, dressing, nuts, seeds and sometimes-fermented foods (don’t down it until you try it!). Why are they called a Buddha’s Bowl? Well they are normally dished up in a bowl, but they also resemble a Buddha’s belly!
We have listed a few places to get a Buddha’s Bowl in the amazing AUCKLAND!
Misters – CBD
Missing your home cuisine? Misters do a range of cuisines for their Buddha Bowls ranging from Greek, Vietnamese.. Portuguese, Arabian or a Nordic bowl. We love the Arabian one because it comes with a truckload of hummus!
Café Mimosa – Takapuna
Here they do a Mexican Buddha Bowl! You know what that means, sour cream, guac, and cheese! All of the best things you could possibly think of, right! The Japanese option is also really delicious, especially for you vegetarians or tofu-lovers.
The Raw Kitchen – City Works Depot
It’s a lucky dip at this café! Every day they do different bowl options, this is good for those people that enjoy a pleasant surprise – although they are always delicious! While you are here be sure to grab a bliss ball, its healthy but definitely doesn’t taste it (that’s a good thing in our books!)
Little Bird Organics – Ponsonby and Britomart
Little Bird is completely vegan, like a lot of our customers! Little Bird were one of the first on the scene of healthy, delicious eating in Auckland and have become well-trusted experts! You can look out for ingredients such as balsamic berries, maple walnuts and crushed almonds! Yum!
Dear Jervois – Herne Bay
Put the Buddha Bowl aside for a minute, this place is beautiful! Take a pic for the gram please! They even do a breakfast version here! And you know what the best part is? The cashew aioli, anything is good with aioli on it.
